Sexual Identity

Sexual identity is a person’s evolving sense of how they understand and describe their sexual feelings, attractions, relationships, and sense of self. In psychology, it can include identity labels, personal meanings, and the ways individuals interpret attraction over time; these experiences may be shaped by development, culture, relationships, and social context rather than by a single determining factor. Studying sexual identity helps researchers examine identity development, wellbeing, stigma, disclosure, and interpersonal experiences across diverse populations. This knowledge supports more inclusive psychological research, culturally responsive practice, and respectful communication in mental-health, educational, and community settings.

Choosing Mates Evolutionary fitness is largely determined by the ability of an organism to survive and successfully produce offspring. Critical to this process is sexual selection, which plays a large role in the determination of mating pairs, and thus which genes are passed on to the next generation. Often, intense competition for mates within a population places selective pressure on traits related to courtship and copulation. Natural selection that results from these pressures is called...

Double-angle and half-angle trigonometric identities are derived from the fundamental sum and difference formulas and serve as essential tools for simplifying expressions, solving equations, and evaluating integrals. These identities reduce the complexity of trigonometric functions by relating functions of a multiple or fractional angle to functions of a single angle. Their applications extend across mathematics, physics, and engineering, particularly in Fourier analysis, wave mechanics, and...
