Portefeuilles d'investisseurs individuels

An individual investor’s portfolio typically includes stocks, bonds, ETFs, and alternative investments tailored to their financial goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.

Behavioral Portfolio Management, or BPM, recognizes the impact of emotions and biases on investment decisions, often leading to suboptimal outcomes.

BPM complements Modern Portfolio Theory or MPT by integrating investors' psychological tendencies and biases into portfolio construction

This layered approach helps investors manage risk and reward while accounting for emotional tendencies.

For example, let us consider two investors, John & Lisa.

Because of a heightened fear of further losses, John may panic during market downturns and sell stocks prematurely at a loss, foregoing the potential for subsequent recovery.

Conversely, overconfidence bias leads Lisa to concentrate heavily on one stock, underestimating risk and suffering significant losses when the stock crashes.

Behavioral biases, fear-driven loss aversion, and overconfidence influenced John and Lisa’s decisions.

They could have improved their investment outcomes by recognizing these biases and implementing a structured approach, such as diversification or long-
