Private Hospitals

Private hospitals are healthcare facilities owned or operated by nongovernmental organizations and provide medical, surgical, diagnostic, and inpatient or outpatient services. They function through coordinated teams of physicians, nurses, technicians, and administrators, with care financed through private insurance, direct payment, or other contracted arrangements. In clinical practice, private hospitals support diagnosis, treatment, surgery, emergency care, rehabilitation, and specialist services, often within organizational models that emphasize service availability and operational efficiency. Their activities contribute to healthcare access and capacity while also raising important questions about affordability, quality, regulation, equity, and the integration of clinical research into patient care.
