Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that supplements a user’s view of the physical world with computer-generated information, making digital content appear within a real environment. It uses cameras, sensors, and software to track position and surroundings, then aligns and renders virtual images, animations, or other media in real time. In marketing, AR supports virtual product try-ons, interactive packaging, location-based experiences, and three-dimensional product visualization across smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices. These applications can make brand communication more interactive, help consumers evaluate products before purchase, and generate measurable insights into attention, engagement, and user behavior.
