Pareto Chart

שקול את הנתונים על מספר מקרי COVID-19 במדינות שונות.

A Pareto chart is a bar graph used to rank data by size or frequency. It can also combine bars with a line graph. In the chart, the bar lengths show the individual values or how often each category appears, and the line shows the cumulative total.

The bars are arranged from longest on the left to shortest on the right. This order makes the data easier to read and interpret. A Pareto chart is also called a Pareto diagram or Pareto analysis.

The chart is named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. He described the Pareto principle, which suggests that in many cases about 80% of the outcomes come from 20% of the conditions. This idea is used in situations such as calculating a country’s population, predicting defects in quality control, and analyzing business profit.

Overall, the Pareto chart helps provide statistical information about the main details in each category. That makes it a useful tool in statistics when comparing the biggest causes or results first.
