The Phragmoplast

תאי הצמח מוקפים בדופן תא קשיחה, מה שמקשה על התאים להתחלק על ידי התכווצות מבחוץ. לפיכך, תאי צמחים מתחלקים על ידי יצירת דופן תא חדשה בין שני גרעיני הבת באופן "מבפנים החוצה". מבנה מיוחד בצמחים שנקרא פרגמופלסט מנחה את היווצרות דופן התא החדשה.

גופי גולג'י מפרישים שלפוחיות קטנות הנישאות על ידי חלבונים מוטוריים לאורך המיקרוטובולים למרכז התא. שלפוחיות אלה מלאות ברב-סוכרים וגליקופרוטאינים, שני מרכיבים חשובים הדרושים לסינתזה חדשה של דופן התא. איחוי השלפוחיות יוצר מבנה דמוי דיסק הנקרא צלחת תא מוקדמת.

הפרגמופלסט

חלוקת תאים חיונית לצמיחה והתפתחות של אורגניזמים. בתאי בעלי חיים, הציר המרכזי והחלבונים הקשורים אליו יוצרים את גוף האמצע, מבנה בעל תפקיד חיוני בציטוקינזיס. בצמחים, הציר המרכזי, יחד עם המיקרוטובולים, האקטין ושאר מרכיבי התא, מבשיל לפרגמופלסטים, הדרוש לציטוקינזיס. בניגוד לגוף האמצעי הנייח, הפרגמופלסט מתרחב צנטריפוגלי, בסופו של דבר מוביל להיווצרות של קיר התא החדש.
