Radio Broadcasting

Radio broadcasting is the one-to-many transmission of audio or other information through radio waves, enabling wireless communication across local, regional, or national areas. In a typical system, a transmitter converts source content into an electrical signal, modulates a radio-frequency carrier, amplifies it, and radiates it through an antenna; a receiver selects the desired frequency, demodulates the signal, and reconstructs the content as sound or data. Engineering principles such as electromagnetic propagation, frequency allocation, signal bandwidth, and noise control determine coverage and quality. These systems support public communication, emergency alerts, education, entertainment, and continuing advances in digital broadcasting.

Guanosine triphosphate (GTP) binding is one of the earliest events in G-Protein-Coupled Receptor (GPCR) activation. This protocol describes how to pharmacologically characterize specific GPCR-ligand interactions by monitoring the binding of the radio-labeled GTP analog, [35S]guanosine-5'-O-(3-thio)triphosphate ([35S]GTPγS), in response to a ligand of interest.
