Gni Per Capita

GNI per capita is an economic indicator that estimates the average income attributable to a country’s residents, making it useful for comparing living standards and national economic capacity. It is calculated by dividing gross national income, which includes income residents receive from abroad and excludes income generated domestically by foreign residents, by the country’s population; international comparisons may adjust values using exchange-rate methods such as the World Bank’s Atlas method. In macroeconomics, GNI per capita supports income classification, development analysis, policy evaluation, and comparisons of economic well-being, although it does not fully capture income inequality, unpaid work, or differences in living costs.
