6-minute Test

The 6-minute test, commonly called the 6-minute walk test, is a standardized assessment of functional exercise capacity that measures how far a person can walk in six minutes. During the test, an individual walks back and forth along a level course at a self-selected pace, while clinicians record walking distance and may monitor symptoms, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and perceived exertion. Used widely in medicine, the test helps evaluate cardiopulmonary limitations, establish baseline mobility, track responses to treatment or rehabilitation, and estimate changes in everyday physical function. Its simplicity and low equipment requirements support repeated assessment in clinical and research settings.

We present a protocol to test the aerobic and anaerobic power of the upper body muscles over a duration of 3 min in able-bodied as well as in paraplegic and tetraplegic individuals. The protocol presents specific modifications in its application for upper-body exercise in individuals with or without disability.

Generating the 6-hydroxydopamine Rat Model of Parkinson's Disease

This video demonstrates a procedure to create a rat model of Parkinson's disease by injecting the neurotoxin 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) into the brain. The neurotoxin infusion into the medial forebrain bundle (MFB) specifically targets dopaminergic neurons responsible for motor control, leading to their destruction and replicating Parkinson's disease symptoms.

One Minute, Sub-One-Watt Photothermal Tumor Ablation Using Porphysomes, Intrinsic Multifunctional Nanovesicles

We developed novel intrinsic multifunctional nanovesicles called porphysomes, which have structure-dependent fluorescence self-quenching and unique photothermal properties, thus functioning as potent photothermal therapy agents. We formulated porphysomes using high pressure extrusion and investigated their photothermal therapy efficacy in a xenograft tumor model.

2026

Piaget’s sensorimotor stage describes cognitive development from birth to approximately two years. During this stage, infants progress from reflexive behavior toward intentional action and early symbolic thought. Substages four through six show major advances in problem-solving, experimentation, and mental representation.Substage 4: Coordination of Secondary Circular ReactionsFrom approximately 8 to 12 months, infants begin coordinating previously learned behaviors to achieve specific goals.
