Lsd Psilocybin

LSD and psilocybin are classic psychedelic substances that produce profound changes in perception, cognition, mood, and sense of self, making them important subjects in pharmacology. LSD acts directly at several serotonin receptors, particularly 5-HT2A, while psilocybin is converted in the body to psilocin, which activates the same receptor and alters cortical signaling. Their effects depend on dose, individual factors, and the surrounding environment, and may include visual distortions, emotional shifts, and temporary changes in time perception. Pharmacological research examines these compounds to clarify serotonin-based brain function and evaluate their potential, under controlled conditions, in mental health research, while also addressing adverse reactions and safety.
