Bold Response Analysis

BOLD response analysis is a neuroimaging method that examines Blood Oxygen Level-Dependent changes in magnetic resonance signals to infer patterns of brain activity. It relies on neurovascular coupling: when neural populations become active, local blood flow and oxygen delivery change, altering the balance of oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin and, consequently, the fMRI signal. In psychology, researchers analyze these responses across brain regions and experimental conditions to study perception, memory, emotion, decision-making, and social behavior. The method supports comparisons between tasks, individuals, and clinical groups, while helping link cognitive processes to their underlying neural systems.

This manuscript describes the setup, implementation, and analysis of boldness, aggression, and shoaling in zebrafish and testing for the presence of a behavioral syndrome. A standardized approach for behavioral quantification will allow for easier comparison across studies. Modifications to this protocol are possible as each assay can be run individually.

A Multiplex Serological Assay for the Detection of Antibody Responses to Arboviruses

2025

Multiplex fluorescence immunoassays are becoming a reference for serology testing. Their application, however, is limited by the complexity and time-consuming bead-analyte coupling processes. This report presents a semi-automated, reproducible multiplex microsphere bead coupling protocol that is comparable to the standard method while considerably reducing time to results.
