Clinical Trial Applications

Clinical trial applications are the uses of systematically designed studies to evaluate medical interventions, diagnostics, or preventive strategies in human participants, providing evidence for safety, efficacy, and clinical value. Researchers assign participants to treatment or control groups, often using randomization and blinding, then measure predefined outcomes across study phases under ethical and regulatory oversight. In biology and medicine, clinical trials translate findings from laboratory and preclinical research into evidence-based healthcare, supporting drug development, vaccine evaluation, diagnostic validation, and personalized treatment strategies. Their results guide regulatory decisions, clinical practice, and future biomedical research.

2023

Clinical trials are prospective experimental studies conducted on humans to determine the safety and efficacy of treatments, drugs, diet methods, and medical devices. Using statistics in clinical trials enables researchers to derive reasonable and accurate conclusions from the collected data, allowing them to make wise decisions in uncertain situations. In medical research, statistical methods are crucial for preventing errors and bias. There are four phases in a clinical trial. A phase one...

Clinical Trials: Overview

2023

Clinical development focuses on how the drug will interact with the human body and encompasses four key phases of clinical trials, each serving a specific purpose in assessing the safety and effectiveness of new drugs. These phases overlap and build upon one another. Phase I involves a small group of healthy volunteers (typically 20-80 individuals) or, in cases where significant toxicity is expected, patients with the targeted disease, such as cancer or AIDS. The volunteers are tested for...

This protocol demonstrates the workflow of the SILICOFCM platform for automatically generating a parametric model of the left ventricle from patient-specific ultrasound images by applying a multi-scale electromechanical model of the heart. This platform enables in silico clinical trials intended to reduce real clinical trials and maximize positive therapeutic outcomes.
