Reflector System

A reflector system is an arrangement of reflective surfaces or components that redirects electromagnetic radiation toward a sample, reaction vessel, or detection region, helping control how energy is delivered in chemical experiments. Its performance depends on reflection, surface geometry, wavelength, and the relative positioning of the radiation source and target; careful design can improve light collection, intensity, and exposure uniformity. In chemistry, reflector systems support photochemical reactions, photoreactor design, and spectroscopic measurements by increasing the effective use of incident radiation. They can improve reaction efficiency and measurement consistency while enabling more controlled studies of light-driven chemical processes.

2012

Polycrystalline silicon thin-film solar cells on glass are fabricated by deposition of boron and phosphorous doped silicon layers followed by crystallisation, defect passivation and metallisation. Plasmonic light-trapping is introduced by forming Ag nanoparticles on the silicon cell surface capped with a diffused reflector resulting in ~45% photocurrent enhancement.

The current study prescribes a coupled experiment-finite element simulation methodology to obtain the uniaxial dynamic mechanical response of soft biomaterials (brain, liver, tendon, fat, etc.). The multiaxial experimental results that arose because of specimen bulging obtained from Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar testing were rendered to a uniaxial true stress-strain behavior when simulated through iterative optimization of the finite element analysis of the biomaterial.

Nuclear Power

2020

Controlled nuclear fission reactions are used to generate electricity. Any nuclear reactor that produces power via the fission of uranium or plutonium by bombardment with neutrons has six components: nuclear fuel consisting of fissionable material, a nuclear moderator, a neutron source, control rods, reactor coolant, and a shield and containment system. Nuclear Fuels Nuclear fuel consists of a fissile isotope, such as uranium-235, which must be present in sufficient quantity to provide a...
