Vibrational Rotational

Vibrational-rotational spectroscopy examines the combined vibrational and rotational energy states of molecules, providing detailed information about molecular structure and motion. When a molecule absorbs infrared radiation, it can undergo a vibrational transition accompanied by changes in its rotational state, producing a characteristic pattern of closely spaced rovibrational lines. These spectra reflect bond strengths, molecular geometry, rotational constants, and temperature-dependent populations of energy levels. In chemistry, vibrational-rotational analysis helps identify gaseous molecules, determine molecular parameters, study atmospheric and combustion processes, and interpret how molecular energy is distributed among different modes of motion.

Source: Laboratory of Jonathan Flombaum—Johns Hopkins University Visual mental imagery refers to the ability to conjure images in one’s mind’s eye. This allows people to process visual material above and beyond the constraints of a current point-of-view; for example, a person could imagine, using their mind’s eye, how something might look in a different color, or what it would look like if it were made from a different material or rotated and seen from a different perspective. Mental imagery...

Vibrating Concrete

Mechanical vibrators are instrumental in compacting newly poured concrete within formwork and around reinforcements. This process is essential to eliminate trapped air pockets and establish a dense concrete mass. One widely used method is vibrating by internal vibrators, often referred to as a poker vibrator or immersion vibrator. It is rapidly inserted through the full depth of the freshly laid concrete and slightly extends into the layer below it (which remains in a plastic state). Consistent...

Source: Nicholas Timmons, Asantha Cooray, PhD, Department of Physics & Astronomy, School of Physical Sciences, University of California, Irvine, CA Inertia is the resistance of an object to being accelerated. In linear kinematics, this concept is directly related to the mass of an object. The more massive an object, the more force is required to accelerate that object. This is seen directly in Newton's second law, which states that force is equal to mass times acceleration. For rotation,...
