Adenocarcinoma

Adenocarcinoma is a cancer that arises from glandular epithelial cells, which line organs and produce substances such as mucus, digestive enzymes, or hormones. These cells acquire genetic and cellular changes that disrupt normal growth, allowing abnormal tissue to proliferate, invade nearby structures, and potentially spread through lymphatic or blood vessels. Adenocarcinomas can develop in the lung, colon, pancreas, breast, prostate, and other organs, with behavior shaped by their tissue of origin and molecular features. Clinical evaluation combines imaging, biopsy, histopathology, staging, and biomarker testing to guide prognosis and treatments such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy.

Adenocarcinoma Engraftment: A Method to Implant Cancer Cells into the Murine Lungs

2023

This video describes a method to engraft lung adenocarcinoma cells in murine lungs by preconditioning the airways with fibrosis-inducing agent–bleomycin. This method significantly enhances orthotopic engraftment of lung cancer cells into murine...

Ultrasound-Guided Implantation: A Technique to Implant Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cells into an Adult Mouse

2023

This video describes the protocol for ultrasound-guided orthotopic implantation of murine-derived pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells directly into the pancreas of the mouse. This causes less inflammation at the implantation site compared to surgical procedures.

B7-H1 (PD-L1) and its binding to PD-1 provide a major tumor-induced immunosuppressive signal in the tumor’s microenvironment. An immunohistochemical staining technique to characterize the expression and localization of B7-H1 in pancreatic adenocarcinoma is described here.

Reprogramming Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma to Pluripotency

2024

The present protocol describes the reprogramming of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and normal pancreatic ductal epithelial cells into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). We provide an optimized and detailed, step-by-step procedure, from preparing lentivirus to establishing stable iPSC lines.

Enhancement of Apoptotic and Autophagic Induction by a Novel Synthetic C-1 Analogue of 7-deoxypancratistatin in Human Breast Adenocarcinoma and Neuroblastoma Cells with Tamoxifen

We have synthesized a novel analogue of pancratistatin with comparable anti-cancer activity as native pancratistatin; interestingly, combinatory treatment with tamoxifen yielded a drastic enhancement in apoptotic and autophagic induction by mitochondrial targeting with minimal effect on noncancerous fibroblasts. Thus, JCTH-4 in combination with tamoxifen could provide a safe anti-cancer therapy.
