Patient Care Quality

Patient Care Quality is the degree to which healthcare services are safe, effective, timely, equitable, patient-centered, and consistent with evidence-based standards. In clinical practice, it improves when care teams use structured assessment, clear communication, clinical guidelines, shared decision-making, and continuous measurement of outcomes and patient experiences. Quality improvement processes identify gaps, analyze contributing factors, and test changes that can reduce errors, prevent complications, and strengthen coordination across care settings. Studying patient care quality helps clinicians and healthcare organizations evaluate performance, promote safer and more reliable care, and develop systems that better respond to patient needs.
