Contact and Field Forces in Physics

Forces in physics are often grouped as contact forces and field forces. Contact forces happen when objects touch directly. Field forces act without direct physical contact. They come from a field, which is a region of space that can be detected by the force it exerts on a body.

フォースは、接触フォースまたはフィールドフォースのいずれかです。

接触力は、(a)2つの物体が同じ空間を占めるのを防ぐ垂直抗力、(b)表面上の物体の滑りに抵抗する摩擦力、(c)ロープやワイヤーなどが物体に取り付けられた物体に加える張力など、物体が互いに接触しているときに作用します。

対照的に、フィールドフォースは物理的な接触を必要としません。4つの基本的な場の力は、重力、電磁気、強い、弱い核相互作用です。

重力は、物体の質量による物体間の相互作用です。

電磁力は、荷電粒子間の相互作用です。

強い力は原子の陽子と中性子の間に作用してそれらを結合しますが、弱い力は原子の放射性崩壊の原因です。
