SBAR II: SBARの適用

To explain the SBAR communication tool, we can use an example.

A patient has hypoglycemia symptoms, and the nurse begins by presenting the situation to the doctor on the phone. She introduces herself and provides the patient's demographic data, such as name and bed number. Then, she describes the patient's symptoms, such as profuse sweating and paleness. She also reports his recent vital signs.

Next, the nurse explains the background by stating that the patient was admitted with the following complaints: hyperemesis and loose stools. Food poisoning was suspected, and IV fluids were started to prevent dehydration.

The nurse explained that her assessment suspected hypoglycemia.

She checked the blood glucose level, which was 50 mg/dL, and immediately gave him orange juice.

Finally, the nurse requests and makes recommendations.

She requests the doctor to visit the patient immediately and inquires if she can administer 25% dextrose.

Lastly, to avoid any errors, the nurse repeats the order given by the doctor.
