Urinalysis consists of physical, chemical, and microscopic examination. The physical examination assesses color, clarity, odor, and specific gravity. Chemical examination uses dipsticks to measure pH, protein, glucose, ketones, bilirubin, and other components. Microscopic examination detects cells, bacteria, crystals, and casts in urine sediment to identify kidney conditions.
