Dsm Scan Analysis

DSM scan analysis is the quantitative processing and interpretation of data collected through DSM scanning, a workflow that converts biological or engineered specimens into measurable structural information. Analysis typically involves calibrating the scan, reducing noise, reconstructing or organizing the data, and extracting features such as dimensions, geometry, surface characteristics, or spatial changes for comparison. In bioengineering, these measurements support characterization of biomaterials, tissue-engineered constructs, medical devices, and biological structures, enabling researchers to assess fabrication quality, monitor changes over time, and relate physical architecture to function. Standardized analysis can improve reproducibility and provide objective evidence for design optimization and experimental validation.

2025

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) serves as the primary classification system for mental health disorders, providing standardized diagnostic criteria for clinicians and researchers. First published by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in 1952, the DSM has undergone several revisions to reflect evolving psychiatric understanding. The fifth edition, DSM-5, released in 2013, introduced key updates that expanded diagnostic categories and modified diagnostic...

Mitochondrial visualization and analysis from mammalian brain tissue is a challenging task. Here, we describe how three dimensional (3D) reconstruction analysis from the serial block-face scanning electron microscopy (SBFSEM) can be used to gain insights on the morphological and volumetric analysis of this critical energy generating organelle.
