Nursing Quality

Nursing quality is the degree to which nursing care is safe, effective, timely, patient-centered, equitable, and consistent with professional standards, making it central to patient outcomes and healthcare performance. It is assessed through structured quality-improvement processes that combine outcome, process, and patient-experience measures with documentation review, incident reporting, audits, and feedback; teams then use the findings to identify gaps, test changes, and monitor results. In medicine, nursing quality supports prevention of complications, continuity of care, and more reliable clinical decision-making, while strengthening accountability and guiding evidence-based practice across hospitals and other care settings.
