Telemetry Wand Programming

Telemetry wand programming is a specialized method for configuring telemetry devices used to collect physiological data in neuroscience research. A handheld wand communicates wirelessly with an implanted telemetry unit at close range, allowing researchers to adjust operating parameters, control recording functions, and check device status without removing the device. This approach supports longitudinal monitoring of neural and physiological activity in laboratory animals while reducing handling and disruption. Reliable programming helps standardize data collection, maintain experimental continuity, and extend the practical use of wireless telemetry in studies of brain function, behavior, disease models, and treatment responses.

Programmed electrical stimulation provides the ability to determine conduction properties of the heart, and the possibility to induce and terminate cardiac arrhythmias using various pacing protocols. Using a transvenous catheter, intracardiac electrogram recordings can be obtained in mice following programmed electrical stimulation protocols to identify arrhythmogenic substrates.
