공급 탄력성(Es)은 여러가지 정도를 가지며, 각 정도는 공급량이 가격 변화에 얼마나 반응하는지를 나타냅니다.

완전탄력적 공급은 아주 작은 가격 변화에도 공급량이 무한히 크게 변화하는 경우입니다. 수평 공급 곡선을 통해 나타납니다. 완전 비탄력적 공급은 반대로,가격 변화에 관계없이, 공급량이 일정하게 유지된다는 것을 의미합니다. 이는 수직 공급 곡선을 통해 나타납니다. Es가 초과하면 공급이 탄력적이라고 ​​간주되어 공급량이 가격 변화에 비례하여 크게 변한다는 것을 나타냅니다. 곡선은 비교적 평평합니다. Es가 1보다 작으면 공급이 비탄력적입니다. 즉, 공급량이 가격 변화에 비례하지 않게 변화하여 더 가파른 곡선을 생성한다는 의미입니다. (Es = 1)은 공급량이 가격 변화에 정확한 비율로 변화한다는 것을 나타냅니다.단위 탄력적 공급 곡선의 기울기는 x축과 y축에 나타나는 단위의 상대적 규모에 따라 더 가파르거나 더 평평할 수 있습니다. 중요한 것은 두 변화의 비율이 정확히 동일해야 한다는 것입니다.
