Pressure Gauges

축구공이 수축할 때 내부 압력이 대기압과 같아질 때까지 가스가 빠져나갑니다. 이 시점에서 압력 게이지는 0을 읽습니다.
대부분의 게이지는 대기압에서 0을 측정하도록 보정되며 측정된 압력을 게이지 압력이라고 합니다.
절대 압력은 게이지 압력과 대기압을 포함한 총 압력입니다.
압력 게이지에는 게이지 압력을 측정하는 압력계와 대기압을 측정하는 기압계의 두 가지 중요한 종류가 있습니다.

양쪽 끝의 아래쪽 압력을 비교하고 게이지 압력을 추정합니다.
수은 기압계는 한쪽 끝이 닫힌 하나의 긴 튜브로 구성됩니다. 튜브는 수은으로 채워져 있고 수은 접시 위에 거꾸로 되어 있습니다.

압력 게이지

gauge vs absolute pressure

Pressure gauges often show pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Many gauges, including those on scuba tanks, are set to read zero at atmospheric pressure. That reading is called gauge pressure. When the pressure inside the tank is higher than atmospheric pressure, the gauge shows a positive value.

Some gauges can also measure negative pressure. This is useful in a vacuum chamber, which is a rigid chamber where some air has been pumped out. Because the pressure inside the chamber is below the surrounding atmospheric pressure, the gauge reads a negative value. Absolute pressure is found by adding gauge pressure and atmospheric pressure, and the absolute pressure of fluids cannot be negative.

Pressure is measured with many devices in everyday life and science. Examples include tire gauges and blood pressure monitors. Other common tools for fluids are manometers and barometers. More specialized pressure gauges include strain gauges, capacitance pressure gauges, piezoelectric pressure gauges, and ion gauges, which measure pressure by ionizing molecules in highly evacuated chambers. Different gauges work best in different pressure ranges and physical situations.
