가장 흔한 원인은 담석으로, 이는 Vater 음모를 막으며, 만성 알코올 사용은 췌장 액세포를 손상시키고 효소 조절을 방해합니다.
기타 원인으로는 고중성지방혈증, 아자티오프린과 같은 특정 약물, 복부 외상, 유행성 이하선염과 같은 바이러스 감염, 내시경 역행성 담관췌조영술(ERCP) 등 시술 후 합병증이 있습니다.
