Vr Hands Pack

A VR Hands Pack is a collection of three-dimensional hand models, animations, and interaction assets designed to represent a user’s hands in virtual reality. Hand-tracking or controller input maps the user’s movements to the digital hands, while rigging, inverse kinematics, and collision settings support natural gestures and object manipulation within an environment. These packs help developers build immersive training simulations, games, educational experiences, and virtual workspaces without creating hand assets from scratch. By improving visual feedback and interaction fidelity, they can make virtual environments easier to navigate, more engaging, and more responsive to user actions.

Using Virtual Reality to Transfer Motor Skill Knowledge from One Hand to Another

We describe a novel virtual-reality based setup which exploits voluntary control of one hand to improve motor-skill performance in the other (non-trained) hand. This is achieved by providing real-time movement-based sensory feedback as if the non-trained hand is moving. This new approach may be used to enhance rehabilitation of patients with unilateral hemiparesis.

Single and Two-phase Flow in a Packed Bed Reactor

2023

Source: Kerry M. Dooley and Michael G. Benton, Department of Chemical Engineering, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA The goal of this experiment is to determine the magnitude of maldistribution in typical packed bed reactors in both single phase and two-phase (gas-liquid) flow and evaluate the effects of this maldistribution on pressure drop. The concepts of residence time distribution and dispersion are introduced through the use of tracers, and these concepts are related to physical...

The Rubber Hand Illusion

Source: Laboratory of Jonathan Flombaum—Johns Hopkins University Reaching for objects, walking without hitting obstacles, landing on a chair as you sit (instead of falling to the floor), these and all our physical actions depend on an ability to perceive our own bodies in space, to know where our limbs are relative to one another and relative to the rest of the world. One way that the human brain encodes this information is called proprioception, the brain relies on its own control and feedback...
