Non-invasive Intervention

Non-invasive intervention is a medical approach that treats, monitors, or prevents disease without cutting the skin or entering the body with instruments, reducing tissue disruption and procedural burden. Depending on its purpose, it may use externally applied energy, imaging-guided techniques, wearable devices, medication, or structured behavioral changes to influence physiological processes while preserving normal anatomy. In medicine, non-invasive interventions support diagnosis, symptom management, rehabilitation, and chronic disease care, often allowing outpatient use and repeated monitoring. Their safety, effectiveness, and suitability depend on the clinical condition, treatment mechanism, patient characteristics, and the quality of evidence supporting their use.

All animal procedures described here must be conducted in accordance with institutional animal ethics guidelines and approved by IACUC. All procedures must follow the principles of the 3Rs—Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement—and must be performed by trained personnel. Monitoring Animals for Signs of Pain and Distress Recognizing early signs of pain is essential for ethical animal research. Animals are routinely monitored using behavioral, physical, and physiological parameters that reflect...

Nursing Interventions I: Taxonomy of Nursing Interventions

2025

Nursing interventions are chosen as part of the planning process to achieve patient outcomes. Once nursing diagnoses are determined, the goals and outcomes are specified, then the nursing interventions are selected and individualized according to the patient's situation. A nursing intervention is a treatment or action based on scientific concepts and knowledge from the nursing, behavioral, and physical sciences. Identifying and prioritizing nursing interventions based on the desired outcome is...

Here, we present a protocol to study the invasion of tumor cells into living normal tissue fragments in three dimensions. This organ culture technique is mainly applied to test potentially anti-invasive drugs in vitro.

Nursing Interventions II: Selecting and Classifying the Nursing Interventions

Creating and executing a nursing diagnosis helps nurses plan care and guide patient, family, and community interventions. They are developed based on a patient's physical evaluation and support measuring the outcomes. It is not recommended to select random interventions throughout the planning process. Instead, consider the following six essential factors when choosing interventions: Characteristics of the nursing diagnosis Goals and expected outcomes Evidence basis (e.g., research or...

The established technique to inoculate primary invasive orthotopic bladder cancer xenografts requires laparotomy and mobilization of the bladder. This procedure inflicts significant morbidity on the mice, is technically challenging and time-consuming. We therefore developed a high-precision, percutaneous approach utilizing ultrasound guidance.
