<p>Dr. Fumiyuki Hattori is a Research Professor in the Innovative Regenerative Medicine at Kansai Medical University. His lab has several focuses. The main aim is the creation of innovative regenerative medicines for a wide range of target organs and tissues. Furthermore, the second aim is the social implementation of human-induced pluripotent stem cells that accelerate their applications in medicinal, cosmetological, and functional food research. He invented several essential methods for heart regenerative medicines. He received his MS in Molecular Biology from Nagoya University in 1997. He got a job as a biomedical researcher and continued his carrier until 2018. He earned his PhD from the Department of Biological Science, Nagoya University, in 2003. In 2002, he joined the Faculty of Regenerative Medicine at Keio University and had led the methodological research. In 2018, he moved to his current position.</p>

Collection Overview

As life expectancy improves globally, the leading causes of death are becoming more conspicuous. Globally, heart diseases and cancer accounted for more than 50% of deaths in 2019. Heart transplantation is currently limited due to organ availability; therefore, it is hoped that regenerative heart therapy will be recognized as a "customary treatment choice." Cancer therapies cause incurable sequelae in patients. The development of various types of regenerative medicine is necessary to ensure a long, healthy life.

 

Several regenerative therapies are currently being developed for human application. However, these studies are divided and isolated by groups. Undoubtedly, the open exchange of methodologies among researchers across scientific regions and borders is essential for facilitating this field's continued depth and progress. Scientists must not fear overwriting and believe we can improve and overcome established technologies. Therefore, this Methods Collection aims to continue gathering advancements and essential methodologies in regenerative medicine.
