Knee injuries, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury, cruciate ligament avulsion fracture, meniscal tear, and patellar dislocation, are among the most common causes of pain, instability, and functional limitation in active and aging populations. Surgical management of these conditions has evolved rapidly over the past decade, with continuous refinements in arthroscopic techniques, graft selection, fixation strategies, and rehabilitation-oriented procedures, making standardized and reproducible technical guidance increasingly important.
This Topical Collection aims to provide a comprehensive, visualized overview of current surgical techniques for knee injury management, focusing on step-by-step operative procedures that are commonly used in clinical practice. By presenting clearly structured protocols for ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair or reconstruction, and patellofemoral stabilization, this collection will help surgeons, researchers, and trainees better understand technical details, decision-making processes, and critical surgical landmarks.
The collection will serve as a practical resource for the orthopedic research and clinical community by promoting reproducibility, improving technical consistency, and facilitating the translation of advanced surgical methods into daily practice. Through JoVE’s video-based format, the collection will enhance surgical education, support methodological standardization, and foster collaboration in knee injury research and treatment.
