<p><span style="color: black;">Dr. Belia García-Parra graduated in medicine from the University of Granada, Spain, in 2011. She completed her residency in clinical neurophysiology at Hospital del Mar, Barcelona, from 2012 to 2016. Following her residency, she joined Bellvitge University Hospital as an attending physician, where she currently performs neurophysiological studies and provides clinical care for patients with neuropathic pain.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: black;">Dr. García-Parra is a member of the Neuropathic Pain Group of the Spanish Pain Society. In 2016, she earned her PhD from the University of Barcelona, defending a doctoral thesis on orphan drugs for rare motor neuron diseases. Her research interests focus on neuropathic pain and rare diseases. To date, she has authored 13 peer-reviewed publications and has been awarded four competitive training grants supporting her research and professional development.</span></p>

Collection Overview

Trigeminal neuralgia is a rare disease that significantly impacts patients' quality of life because of the severe, lancinating pain that may only partially respond to medical therapy.


This collection aims to highlight advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of trigeminal neuralgia by showcasing innovative methodologies and clinically relevant research. The collection welcomes contributions on diagnostic tools, neurophysiological and imaging techniques, biomarkers, disease mechanisms, therapeutic interventions, surgical and minimally invasive procedures, neuromodulation, clinical trial methodologies, translational research, and emerging technologies that improve patient care and research reproducibility.


We invite method articles, research articles, review articles, case reports, and rapid reports that present novel protocols, experimental techniques, clinical workflows, and technological innovations relevant to trigeminal neuralgia.
