Three key concerns that are important to people are unemployment, inflation, and economic growth.
Unemployment arises when individuals who are willing to work, looking for work, and available for work cannot find jobs. Unemployed workers and their families lose income and may experience psychological distress. Further, the labor they are willing to give for existing wages is not being used to make any goods or services for the economy.
Another issue that affects people is inflation, which means a general increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy. Essential items such as food, housing, and transportation become more costly, putting financial pressure on households.
The third important issue that affects people is economic growth.
Economic growth measures the increase in a country's output of goods and services, typically reflected in rising Gross Domestic Product or GDP. A growing economy may improve people's living standards.
The government aims to reduce unemployment, control inflation, and promote economic growth to improve people's living standards.
