Gauge vs Absolute Pressure
Description
Pressure gauges often show pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Many gauges, including those on scuba tanks, are set to read zero at atmospheric pressure. That reading is called gauge pressure. When the pressure inside the tank is higher than atmospheric pressure, the gauge shows a positive value.

When a soccer ball is deflating, gas escapes till the inside pressure equals the atmospheric pressure. At this point, the pressure gauge reads zero.
