When two objects interact, both experience an equal magnitude of force that acts in opposite directions. This is the statement of Newton's third law.
If vector FAB is the force applied by object A on B and vector FBA is the force applied by object B on A, then mathematically, Newton's third Law of motion is expressed as vector FAB equal to the negative of vector FBA.
The force exerted by the first body is "action," whereas the force experienced by it resulting from its own action is termed as "reaction."
The "action-reaction" pair always acts on different objects but at the same instant. This law is important in analyzing forces on bodies at rest as well as in accelerated motion.
