Biopharmaceutical Quality

Biopharmaceutical quality is the systematic assurance that biologic medicines consistently meet defined standards for identity, purity, potency, safety, and stability. It relies on characterizing complex molecules, controlling manufacturing conditions, and applying analytical assays to detect impurities, variability, and changes during production and storage. In biochemistry, these activities connect molecular properties with critical quality attributes and process performance, supporting evidence-based decisions throughout development and manufacturing. Strong quality systems help demonstrate batch-to-batch consistency, satisfy regulatory requirements, and protect patients while enabling reliable production of vaccines, therapeutic proteins, antibodies, and other biologic products.

Types of Biopharmaceutical Studies: Controlled and Non-Controlled Approaches

2024

Biopharmaceutical studies constitute a vital field aiming to enhance drug delivery methods and refine therapeutic approaches, drawing upon diverse interdisciplinary knowledge. In research methodologies, the choice between controlled and non-controlled studies significantly influences the study's reliability and accuracy. Non-controlled studies, commonly employed for initial exploration, lack a control group, rendering them susceptible to biases and external influences. In contrast, controlled...

Biopharmaceutical Factors Influencing Drug Product Design: Overview

2025

Rational drug product design integrates knowledge of the drug’s physicochemical properties, formulation components, manufacturing techniques, and intended route of administration. Each factor influences the drug’s performance, including how it is released, absorbed, and eliminated in the body. The physicochemical properties of a drug—such as solubility, stability, and particle size—affect its compatibility with excipients and the choice of dosage form. Excipients, though pharmacologically...

Service quality is essential for customer satisfaction and loyalty. To effectively meet customer expectations, focus on aspects like tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Tangibles are the physical aspects of a service that customers interact with. For instance, the design and cleanliness of a hotel lobby or the professionalism of the staff's attire contribute to a customer's overall impression. A well-maintained environment and transparent, visually appealing...
