Plc Stages

PLC stages, or product life cycle stages, describe the progression a product typically follows in the market, from launch to eventual withdrawal. The model usually includes introduction, growth, maturity, and decline: sales begin slowly during market entry, accelerate as awareness and adoption increase, stabilize when competition intensifies and demand becomes established, and fall as customer preferences, technologies, or alternatives change. Marketers use these stages to guide decisions about pricing, promotion, distribution, product improvements, and investment. Applying the framework helps organizations interpret sales patterns, respond to competitive conditions, allocate resources, and plan strategies that support a product’s performance throughout its market life.
