Maturation Database

A maturation database is a curated digital resource that organizes information about how cells, tissues, organisms, or clinical conditions change as they progress through defined developmental or functional stages. It works by linking maturation stage, biological markers, phenotypic features, experimental conditions, and associated outcomes in standardized records that can be searched and compared. In medicine, these databases help researchers evaluate developmental trajectories, characterize disease-related delays or abnormalities, and relate laboratory findings to patient data. They also support biomarker discovery, comparison of experimental models, and the design of cell-based therapies by making maturation patterns easier to analyze and interpret.

Database Searching

2026

Effective research begins with the ability to navigate academic databases efficiently. Unlike general web search engines, scholarly databases are designed to index peer-reviewed articles, conference proceedings, and other credible academic publications. Developing a structured search strategy ensures that researchers can identify relevant, high-quality sources with precision. For example, when studying how sleep patterns relate to circadian rhythms in humans, researchers should move beyond...

The MDS diagnosis is difficult in the absence of morphological criteria or non-informative cytogenetics. MFC could help refine the MDS diagnostic process. To become useful for clinical practice, the MFC analysis must be based on parameters with sufficient specificity and sensitivity, and data should be reproducible between different operators.

A thoracic oncology database was developed to serve as a comprehensive repository for clinical and laboratory data for the purposes of translational research. The database will serve translational cancer researchers within the Thoracic Oncology Research Program. This database is adaptable to other cancer models, as well as other human diseases.

Maturation of Endosomes

2023

The early endosome containing internalized molecules matures through transformations in its location, morphology, intraluminal pH, and membrane protein composition. Together, these changes result in a more acidic late endosome that contains multiple intraluminal vesicles; therefore, the late endosome is also called a multivesicular body (MVB). Changes in location The maturing endosome moves along microtubules from the periphery of the cell towards the perinuclear region. This movement of the...
