Technology Based Functional Skills

Technology Based Functional Skills are practical competencies for using digital tools, devices, and information systems to perform tasks accurately and safely in healthcare. They involve applying technical procedures, interpreting electronically generated information, and integrating tools such as electronic health records, diagnostic equipment, simulation platforms, and telemedicine systems into clinical workflows. In medicine, these skills support documentation, communication, clinical decision-making, patient monitoring, and coordinated care. Developing them can improve efficiency, reduce preventable errors, strengthen patient safety, and prepare healthcare professionals to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and increasingly digital clinical environments.

Two-Dimensional Graphs Some chemistry experiments take the form of directly changing one property of the system that you are studying otherwise known as the independent variable, like temperature, and measuring the effects on another property, otherwise known as the dependent variable, like volume. Once the data have been collected, the interaction between the two parameters must be quantified — or converted into a form that can be evaluated — and compared to other relationships.

We describe a novel virtual-reality based setup which exploits voluntary control of one hand to improve motor-skill performance in the other (non-trained) hand. This is achieved by providing real-time movement-based sensory feedback as if the non-trained hand is moving. This new approach may be used to enhance rehabilitation of patients with unilateral hemiparesis.
