Multi-channel Eeg

Multi-channel EEG is a neurophysiological recording technique that measures electrical activity from multiple electrodes placed across the scalp, allowing researchers to observe brain function over space and time. Each electrode detects voltage differences produced by synchronized postsynaptic activity in cortical neuron populations, while the collection of channels captures distributed patterns such as oscillations, event-related responses, and connectivity between brain regions. In neuroscience, multi-channel EEG supports studies of sensory processing, cognition, sleep, epilepsy, and neurological disorders. Its millisecond-scale temporal resolution also makes it valuable for brain-computer interfaces and for linking neural dynamics to behavior, although signal interpretation requires attention to artifacts, reference choice, and volume conduction.

We designed a dry-type 16 channel EEG sensor which is non-invasive, deformable, and re-usable. This paper describes the whole process from manufacturing the proposed EEG electrode to signal processing of visual evoked potential (VEP) signals measured on a mouse scalp using a dry non-invasive multi-channel EEG sensor.

Development of an effective brain-machine-interface (BMI) system for restoration and rehabilitation of bipedal locomotion requires accurate decoding of user's intent. Here we present a novel experimental protocol and data collection technique for simultaneous non-invasive acquisition of neural activity, muscle activity, and whole-body kinematics during various locomotion tasks and conditions.

EEG is a non-invasive technique that can measure brain activity. The neural activity generates electrical signals that are recorded by EEG electrodes placed on the scalp. When an individual is engaged in performing a cognitive task, brain activity changes and these changes can be recorded on the EEG graph. Therefore, it is a powerful tool for cognitive scientist aiming to better understand the neural correlates associated with different aspects of cognition, which will ultimately help them...
