Educational Practices

Educational practices are the instructional methods, assessment approaches, and learning environments used to support how people acquire knowledge, skills, and behaviors. In psychology, they draw on principles of cognition, motivation, development, and social interaction, using processes such as guided practice, feedback, reinforcement, and collaborative learning to influence attention, memory, and engagement. Studying these practices helps educators evaluate how teaching strategies affect learning outcomes across different ages, abilities, and contexts. Evidence from educational psychology informs classroom instruction, curriculum design, teacher training, and interventions that promote effective, equitable learning.
