Plaats de spinfilter in een microcentrifugebuisje.
Laad het monster op de filter en sluit het buisje.
Plaats het buisje in een centrifuge, zorg ervoor dat het goed is uitgebalanceerd met een ander buisje aan de andere kant, en centrifugeer gedurende 10–30 min, afhankelijk van het type spinfilter.
Verwijder de filter en de vloeistof in de bodem is de gefilterde oplossing.
Als het monster niet door het membraan kan gaan — zoals een grote eiwit — blijft het aan de bovenkant van de filter. In dit geval draai de filter om, plaats het in een nieuwe buis en draai opnieuw. Dit zal een geconcentreerd monster produceren.
