The Nucleus

Jądro, wyróżniająca się cecha komórek eukariotycznych, jest organellą związaną z błoną, w której znajduje się informacja genetyczna, DNA, które jest zorganizowane w różny sposób w zależności od fazy cyklu życia komórki.
Na przykład kompleksy białek DNA, znane jako chromatyna, są zawieszone w nukleoplazmie, substancji podobnej do żelu, i są szczególnie skoncentrowane w regionie zwanym jąderkiem. Kiedy komórka się nie dzieli, włókna chromatyny są luźno ułożone i przypominają splątane struny, co pozwala na łatwiejszy dostęp do DNA podczas transkrypcji. W przeciwieństwie do tego, gdy komórka ma się podzielić, włókna chromatyny są kompresowane w chromosomy.

Jądro jest organellą związaną z błoną, która pełni rolę centrum kontroli w komórce eukariotycznej. Zawiera chromosomalny DNA, który kontroluje ekspresję genów i precyzyjnie reguluje produkcję białek w komórce. Natomiast DNA wewnątrz mitochondriów i chloroplastów pełni jedynie funkcje specyficzne dla tych organelli.

<h4>Układ DNA w jądrze</h4>

Regulacja ekspresji genów wewnątrz jądra zależy od wielu czynników, w tym od struktury DNA. DNA w jądrze jest owinięte wokół białek zwanych histonami, tworząc kompleks DNA-białko zwany chromatyną. Kiedy komórki nie dzielą się, tj. podczas interfazy, chromatyna jest zorganizowana w sposób rozproszony. Pozwala to na łatwy dostęp do DNA podczas transkrypcji. Kiedy komórka eukariotyczna ma się wkrótce podzielić, chromatyna ściśle kondensuje się w odrębne, liniowe chromosomy, które można łatwo podzielić na komórki potomne.

<h4>Jąderka</h4>

Jąderko to organellum pozbawione błony, która tworzy się wokół loci chromosomalnych rybosomalnego RNA w jądrze. Dlatego jąderka są miejscem syntezy rRNA i składania podjednostek rybosomów. Podjednostki te są później eksportowane z jądra w celu złożenia w w pełni funkcjonalne rybosomy.

<h4>Dodatkowe struktury subjądrowe</h4>

Jądro zawiera również wiele innych ciał jądrowych, takich jak ciałka Cajala, plamki i parakropki. Te ciała jądrowe pomagają przestrzennie podzielić środowisko jądrowe i stworzyć odrębne miejsca dla określonych reakcji biologicznych. The nucleus is the control center of a eukaryotic cell. It is a membrane-bound organelle that contains chromosomal DNA. That DNA helps control gene expression and regulate protein production in the cell.

Not all cellular DNA has the same role. The DNA in mitochondria and chloroplasts supports functions that are specific to those organelles. Inside the nucleus, DNA structure also affects how genes are regulated.

Nuclear DNA is wrapped around proteins called histones. This forms chromatin, a DNA-protein complex. During interphase, when the cell is not dividing, chromatin stays loosely arranged. This open form makes the DNA easier to access during transcription.

When a eukaryotic cell prepares to divide, chromatin changes shape. It condenses into distinct, linear chromosomes. These chromosomes can then be separated into daughter cells.

The nucleus also contains the nucleolus. This is a membrane-less organelle that forms around the chromosomal loci for ribosomal RNA, or rRNA. The nucleolus is the site where rRNA is made and ribosomal subunits are assembled. These subunits leave the nucleus and later combine to form functional ribosomes.

Other nuclear bodies are found in the nucleus as well. These include Cajal bodies, speckles, and paraspeckles. They help organize the nuclear space and create separate sites for specific biological reactions. Their membrane-less structure also allows contents to move more easily with the nucleoplasm.
