The Principle of Superposition and the Gravitational Field

Pole grawitacyjne, którego doświadcza cząstka o określonej masie z powodu innej cząstki, to siła grawitacji działająca na tę cząstkę podzielona przez jej masę.
Zasada superpozycji mówi, że pole grawitacyjne netto w dowolnym punkcie jest sumą wektorową pól grawitacyjnych powodowanych przez poszczególne obiekty punktowe.
Rzeczywisty obiekt o określonym kształcie może być podzielony na nieskończenie małe części, z których każda ma masę różniczkową wytwarzającą pole różniczkowe w pewnej odległości. Pole wynikowe dla całego obiektu uzyskuje się zgodnie z zasadą superpozycji przez całkowanie przez odpowiednią granicę.
Rozważmy na przykład kulę o stałej gęstości. Masę różnicową dla dowolnej powłoki składowej można zapisać jako gęstość pomnożoną przez objętość różnicową.

zasada superpozycji i pole grawitacyjne

Zasada superpozycji dotyczy sił grawitacyjnych obiektów, które są wystarczająco daleko od siebie. Stwierdza, że siła grawitacji wypadkowa działająca na obiekt punktowy jest sumą wektorową sił grawitacyjnych działających na niego od różnych obiektów. Zasada ta pomaga obliczyć siłę, wymieniając poszczególne siły, a następnie sumując je wektorowo. Należy jednak zauważyć, że zasada superpozycji nie zawsze jest oczywista. W obecności drugiej siły, pierwsza siła mogłaby zostać wzmocniona lub zmniejszona, albo też obie siły mogłyby mieć łączny efekt, będący złożoną kombinacją obu sił. Na szczęście natura jest prosta w zakresie łącznego oddziaływania sił na obiekt punktowy.

Zasada superpozycji pomaga konceptualizować wpływ grawitacji w kategoriach nowego pojęcia – pola grawitacyjnego. W przypadku wektorowego dodawania sił wywołanych wieloma masami masa badanego obiektu jest wielkością skalarną, która mnoży się przez przyspieszenie wywołane każdą siłą. Można go wyjąć z sumy i podzielić. Siła wypadkowa na jednostkę masy nie zależy zatem od masy testowej. Wielkość ta nazywana jest polem grawitacyjnym i jest wielkością wektorową, której kierunek jest taki sam, jak kierunek wypadkowej siły grawitacyjnej. Z definicji pole podlega zasadzie superpozycji.

Pole grawitacyjne pomaga nam zrozumieć matematyczny problem badania ruchu obiektów pod wpływem siły grawitacji. Różne obiekty tworzą wokół siebie pole grawitacyjne; sumują się one wektorowo, tworząc pole grawitacyjne netto w przestrzeni. Kiedy w polu znajduje się masa testowa, pole netto wytwarza na niej siłę wypadkową, która jest iloczynem pola i jego masy.

Gravitational forces can be added using the principle of superposition. For objects that are sufficiently far apart, the net gravitational force on a point object is the vector sum of the forces from each mass. This means each force is found first, and then the forces are added as vectors.

Superposition is useful because gravity from more than one object can combine in ways that are not always easy to see. One force may be increased or reduced by another force, or the final effect may be a more complex combination of both. Even so, nature follows a simple rule for how these forces act together on a point object.

The same idea leads to the concept of the gravitational field. When the test object's mass is treated as a scalar quantity, it can be taken out of the force sum. The force per unit mass is then independent of the test mass. This quantity is called the gravitational field, and it is a vector that points in the same direction as the net gravitational force.

By definition, the gravitational field also follows superposition. Different objects create gravitational fields around themselves, and these fields add vectorially in space to make a net field. When a test mass is placed in that field, the net field produces a force on it equal to the field multiplied by the mass. This helps describe motion under gravity in a clear mathematical way.
