Ebus-tbna

EBUS-TBNA is a minimally invasive bronchoscopy technique that uses endobronchial ultrasound and transbronchial needle aspiration to obtain tissue or fluid from lesions near the airways. During the procedure, an ultrasound-equipped bronchoscope identifies mediastinal or hilar lymph nodes, and a needle passes through the bronchial wall to collect samples for cytological, histological, and molecular analysis. In cancer research, EBUS-TBNA supports lung cancer diagnosis, mediastinal staging, biomarker assessment, and treatment planning, while reducing the need for more invasive surgical sampling when clinically appropriate.
