Pharmacist

A pharmacist is a healthcare professional who specializes in medicines, including their development, preparation, safe use, and effects on patients. Pharmacists assess a medication’s properties, dose, route, interactions, and potential adverse effects, then use patient information and clinical evidence to support appropriate therapy. In clinical settings, they collaborate with physicians, nurses, and patients to review medication regimens, monitor responses, identify drug-related problems, and provide counseling that improves adherence and safety. Their work contributes to individualized treatment, prevention of medication errors, management of chronic disease, and more effective use of healthcare resources across hospitals, clinics, community pharmacies, and research.
