Face-to-face interaction is direct communication between people who share a physical setting, allowing immediate exchange of spoken language, facial expressions, gestures, and other social cues. In marketing, this interaction works through synchronous dialogue: participants interpret verbal and nonverbal signals, ask questions, provide feedback, and adapt their responses in real time. It supports relationship building, personalized selling, customer research, product demonstrations, and service encounters by helping marketers identify needs and address uncertainty as conversations develop. Although digital channels extend reach, in-person communication remains valuable when trust, empathy, negotiation, and nuanced understanding influence customer decisions.
