Immersive Environment

Immersive environments are sensory-rich, often interactive settings that create a strong sense of presence by surrounding a person with coordinated visual, auditory, and sometimes tactile information. In neuroscience, virtual reality systems generate this experience by synchronizing real-time sensory cues with a participant’s movements, allowing the brain to integrate incoming signals and update its representation of the body and surrounding space. Researchers use these environments to study perception, attention, spatial navigation, motor control, and multisensory integration under controlled conditions. They also support rehabilitation and experiments that examine how neural processes change when people interact with realistic, adaptable surroundings.
