Cyclic Processes And Isolated Systems

Предположим, что термодинамическая система, подобно воздуху внутри легких, при начальном давлении и объеме, расширенная до нового конечного состояния, возвращается в свое исходное состояние в термодинамическом процессе. Такой процесс называется циклическим. 
При этом внутренняя энергия газа остается постоянной, поэтому выполняемая работа равна чистой теплопередаче.
На pV-диаграмме такой циклический процесс представлен замкнутой траекторией. Предположим, что работа, выполненная по первому пути, — W1, а по второму пути — W2. Сетевая работа, выполняемая в циклическом процессе, представлена площадью между этими двумя замкнутыми путями.
Он положителен, если процесс следует циклу по часовой стрелке, и отрицателен, если он следует циклу против часовой стрелки.

Рассмотрим циклический процесс, который возвращается в своё начальное состояние, пройдя четыре этапа. Тепловой поток вдоль каждого пути составляет 40 Дж, -80 Дж, -20 Дж и 100 Дж. Какая совокупная работа выполнена при этом процессе?

Известными величинами являются тепловой поток для каждого этапа. Неизвестной величиной является совокупное количество выполненной работы для этого циклического процесса.

Согласно первому закону термодинамики, изменение внутренней энергии системы является разницей между совокупным тепловым потоком в систему и выполненной системой работы. Поскольку изменение внутренней энергии равно нулю, совокупное количество выполненной работы равно совокупному тепловому потоку. Совокупный тепловой поток равен сумме теплового потока для каждого пути, что составляет 40 Дж. Следовательно, совокупная выполненная работа составляет 40 Дж.

A cyclic thermodynamic process returns a system to its initial state. In a cycle, the change in internal energy is zero. An isolated system is different because it has zero heat exchange and zero work, so its internal energy stays constant.

For a non-isolated system, the internal energy change is zero only when the process is cyclic. The first law of thermodynamics relates internal energy, heat transfer, and work. It states that the change in internal energy is the difference between the net heat transferred into the system and the net work done by the system.

The example here uses a four-step cyclic process. The heat transfer along the four paths is 40 J, -80 J, -20 J, and 100 J. The question is to find the net work done for the full cycle. The net heat transfer is the sum of the heat for each step, which is 40 J.

Because the process is cyclic, the change in internal energy is zero. That means the net work done equals the net heat transfer. So the net work done is 40 J. This positive value means the system does more work than work done on it. The heat energy supplied to the system is used to do external work.
