Cultural Sensitivity

Cultural sensitivity is the awareness and respectful consideration of differences in people’s values, beliefs, languages, identities, and social practices. In marketing, it works by guiding organizations to research cultural contexts, recognize how audiences may interpret symbols and messages differently, and adapt communication without relying on stereotypes or appropriation. Culturally sensitive marketing can improve relevance, trust, and inclusion across diverse communities while reducing the risk of offensive or misunderstood campaigns. It also supports more ethical audience research, representative content, and stronger long-term relationships between brands and consumers in increasingly global and multicultural markets.
