Box Cavity Model

The Box Cavity Model is a radiation dosimetry framework that estimates energy deposition in a bounded detector cavity and helps relate measurements to absorbed dose in surrounding tissue. It represents the cavity as a defined volume within a material, where secondary charged particles enter, lose energy through ionization, and may transport energy across the cavity boundaries. In medicine, the model supports analysis of ionization-chamber response, absorbed-dose measurements, and radiation-beam characterization. By clarifying how cavity size, material composition, and charged-particle equilibrium influence dose, it provides a foundation for accurate treatment planning, calibration, and quality assurance in radiotherapy.

Black Box Model

2024

The Black Box Model of Consumer Behavior conceptualizes the decision-making process as a "black box" where inputs (stimuli) lead to outputs (responses) without fully revealing the internal cognitive processes. It emphasizes the mystery of the consumer's mind and focuses on observable external factors and responses. The model includes external stimuli (marketing efforts, social influences), the consumer's black box (psychological factors, perception, and attitudes), and the resulting behavioral...

The Edgeworth Box, introduced by Francis Edgeworth, is a graphical tool used to analyze the efficient allocation of resources between two entities, such as consumers or producers. It focuses on the distribution of two goods between two individuals within a controlled framework, offering insights into exchange efficiency and market equilibrium. The box's dimensions are determined by the total quantities of the two goods being analyzed. For instance, if two individuals, Jamie and Morgan, share 12...

Oral Cavity

The oral cavity, or the mouth, is a complex structure in humans that plays a vital role in our day-to-day lives. Its role is not only in chewing and swallowing food; it also plays a role in speech and facial expressions. Teeth: The teeth are the hardest structures in our bodies. Humans have two sets of teeth throughout their lifetime: deciduous (baby) teeth and permanent teeth. Each tooth consists of several parts: the crown (visible part), the root (embedded in the jaw), enamel (hard outer...

Developing a Behavioral Box for Assessing Prepulse Inhibition and Neural Activity in Psychiatric Animal Models

2025

This protocol presents a microcontroller-based behavioral box to assess prepulse inhibition (PPI) by collecting acceleration data from a sensor beneath the box. This data evaluates sensory gating deficits in socially isolated rats, with an added method for synchronizing data with neuronal activity to advance neurophysiology studies on behavioral disorders.
