Imagine sharing a pizza with a friend. If you cut it into two equal parts, each part will be ½ of the total, which is 0.5.

This is a rational number as it can be written as a ratio of two integers, like a/b.

With rational numbers, their decimal forms are predictable: they either end, like 0.5, or repeat, like 0.333… and so on.
